SGA Resolution to Install Black Hawk Sculpture on Pocahontas Campus

Kaylee Pence, SGA President Signing the Resolution

POCAHONTAS, AR Mar. 7– The BRTC Student Government Association recently signed a resolution to commission an artist to create a BRTC Black Hawk Sculpture to be located on the Pocahontas campus.

This is the third in a series of recent SGA projects known as “Student Legacy Projects.” The BRTC SGA Student Legacy Projects utilize funds from the collection of the student activity fee and allocates them to a project that will enhance the BRTC student experience for many years to come. Past SGA Student Legacy Projects have included the creation of the BRTC Mascot and the construction of coffee houses on both campuses.

Jason Smith, Vice President of Student Affairs states, “I am proud of the lasting legacy the BRTC SGA is creating for future Black Hawks and their Black Hawk student experience. These legacy projects are testaments to the vision and caring our students have for the future of our campus. Many current and future BRTC students will benefit greatly from these yearly signature projects.”

Ashley Hankins, SGA Advisor, adds, “Since SGA was established at BRTC 10 years ago, we have sponsored many student events and trips, but I have been so excited to see what we have been able to do with these legacy projects and the lasting impact they will make for BRTC students in years to come. If you are a student at BRTC and are interested in becoming an active member in SGA please reach out to one of the advisors so we can get you information on upcoming meetings and projects we\’re working on.”
