Black River Technical College (BRTC) Workforce Training recently completed a 30-Hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) General Industry class funded by the Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarship.
This class was instructed by Bert Clevenger and had participants from Kagome USA in Osceola and Rotocraft in Pocahontas. The 30-Hour OSHA General Industry class taches workers and supervisors about workplace hazards and how to identify and handle them. The 30-hour course is an in-depth training that covers topics like Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Electrical Safety, and Hazard Communication Standard (HCS).
BRTC works closely with local and state workforce development agencies and area economic development initiatives to serve the needs of businesses and industries within Clay, Greene, Lawrence, and Randolph counties in developing workforce programs which benefit the workforce and employers. Workforce Training offers training in Pocahontas, Paragould, and online. BRTC is proud to serves as the sole provider of education for the Greene County Industrial Training Council (GCITC).
