Spring 2016 Commencement

\"Brett_Powell_4\"Approximately 216 students will graduate from Black River Technical College Thursday, May 12 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Randolph County Development Center.

Robert Johnson, graduate candidate, from Blytheville will serve as class spokesperson.  Johnson will graduate with a certificate in Industrial Electricity.

Dr. Brett Powell, Director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE), will be the guest speaker.  Powell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Louisiana, Monroe, as well as a Master of Business Administration and a Doctorate of Education in higher education administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

In addition to his work at ADHE, Powell also is a member of the Governor’s Cabinet, vice chair of the Governor’s Workforce Cabinet and serves on several other state boards and task forces. He also serves as a board member for the Arkansas 529 College Savings Plan and the Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

Guests of the graduates and members of the community are invited to attend commencement.
