Purchasing Assistant

Black River Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Purchasing Assistant.  This is a full time, 12-month non-classified position.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Purchasing Assistant works under general supervision of the Campus Store and Procurement Supervisor and is responsible for performing the purchasing functions for the college.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: processing purchase requests, assisting with the purchase of goods, checking in and distributing supplies; facilitating procurement card processes and reconciling transactions; preparing required reports with accuracy.

• Eight hours of sick leave monthly after fulfilling all work hours in a pay period

• Eight hours of vacation leave monthly after fulfilling all work hours in a pay period

• 14% minimum retirement contribution from BRTC each pay period

QUALIFICATIONS:
The formal education of an associate degree plus two years’ experience in the area of purchasing or a related field. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of a review committee.  Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
