Pocahontas Rotary Club Donates to the BRTC Foundation

On Wednesday, June 18, the Pocahontas Rotary Club presented a check to Dr. Karen Liebhaber, Executive Director of the Black River Technical College (BRTC) Foundation, to continue to support the Foundation's assistance to non-traditional students who encounter emergencies during their educational journey.

BRTC is grateful to the Pocahontas Rotary Club for their generous gift and longtime support.  The Pocahontas Rotary Club has supported the Foundation for more than 15 years despite the lack of publicity such a gift usually receives.  No publicity is created when a student must utilize this fund, yet the Pocahontas Rotary Club has continued to support this fund without recognition or public acknowledgement.

"Donors like the Pocahontas Rotary Club truly care about the success of our local community and BRTC students," said Liebhaber.  "Their support has helped many students successfully complete their degree despite obstacles and tragedies which could have easily derailed their graduation.  Because we keep these student struggles private, Rotary really has no idea how many times they have been a hero to BRTC students.  This shows their dedication to our local community.  We are so lucky to have the Pocahontas Rotary Club."
