Phlebotomy Offered on the BRTC Paragould Campus

PARAGOULD, AR Jan. 7—Black River Technical College’s Phlebotomy Program will be offered on the Paragould campus this spring for the first time as part of the Career & Technical Center offerings.

BRTC’s Phlebotomy Program prepares students, under the supervision of physicians and other healthcare professionals, to draw blood samples from patients using a variety of invasive procedures. Instruction includes basic vascular anatomy and physiology, blood physiology, skin puncture techniques, venipuncture, venous specimen collection and handling, safety and sanitation procedures, and applicable standards and regulations. Upon successful completion of this program, individuals will earn a certificate of proficiency.
