Black River Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Administrative Assistant for Community Education on the Pocahontas campus. This is a 29-hour-per-week position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides helpful information and guidance to the public by phone and in person. Accepts registration and payment for classes. Composes, types, and proofreads routine correspondence. Maintains computerized and paper filing systems. Records and retrieves database information. Keeps master schedule of all activities and classes. Maintains inventories and orders supplies. Prepares and organizes materials needed for classes and activities. Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The formal education equivalent of an Associate’s Degree is preferred, with at least one year of specialized training in the secretarial field. Minimum qualifications require excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to utilize various software applications. Must also have knowledge of basic record keeping and accounting procedures. Must exhibit excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. Other job-related experience may be substituted for all or part of these requirements.
