Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) 2023 Outstanding Alumni is Nick Alphin.
Alphin graduated from Pocahontas High School in 2005 after which he enrolled at BRTC. He was a first-generation college student and was awarded an Associate of Arts degree in 2008.
While in college, Nick began working for Baltz Equipment in Pocahontas. After a few years, he moved to AgHeritage in Hoxie, which was recently purchased by Baker Implement Company. Throughout his career in agricultural equipment, he has held a variety of positions. He is currently a Sales and Product Specialist. He and his family also own and operate Alphin Farms, a beef cattle and hay operation in Sharp County.
Alphin and his wife Kelly reside in Engelberg and have three children.
