Black River Technical College is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Law Enforcement Training Academy in Pocahontas. This is a nine-month contract position beginning August 11, 2025, with additional teaching opportunities possible during evenings and summer.
REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or related field is desired with a Master’s Degree preferred. Ten years law enforcement experience with at least five years at the operations or tactical level is required. Requirements may be waived if the applicant possesses special certifications if approved by the Director of the Law Enforcement Training Academy. This vacancy requires considerable knowledge of Constitutional Law, Domestic Violence, RADAR/LIDAR, and other elements of the criminal justice and law enforcement fields. Knowledge and ability to use basic computer skills, instructional principles, develop lesson plans, and presentations are a must. Experience in the areas of training, education, research, and project development implementation is required. The successful applicant must be certified as a law enforcement instructor in professional and general topic areas and hold a law enforcement certification and be in good standing with the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST). RESPONSIBILITIES:
The instructor will be responsible for development and implementation of programs, projects, training, education, planning, and administrative activities at the Academy. The instructor will act as a liaison to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies, BRTC staff, institutions of higher education, professional boards and organizations, civic and governmental groups, and the general public.
