Searching for a fun and creative hobby to learn? Want to relieve stress while designing fashion accessories and great gifts? Try out knitting. The Corporate & Community Education Department of Black River Technical College is offering Knitting for Beginners. Participants who attend this course will learn: the knit stitch, binding off and finishing, how to fix common mistakes, and how to cast-on using the long-tail cast-on method. This course will explain the English and Continental methods of knitting. Yarn will be provided to create an ear-warming headband, traditional scarf, or infinity scarf. Students will need to bring size 8, aluminum knitting needles and a plastic yarn needle. This three-week course will be held on Thursdays, October 20 – November 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Register at the Continuing Education Building, located on the BRTC Pocahontas Campus, College Drive, Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 18.
