On Friday, November 4, Black River Technical College in Paragould and Greene County Industrial Training Council (GCITC) hosted a Business and Industry Appreciation Luncheon. Greene County Industrial Training Consortium Members, BRTC Board of Trustees, and business and industry leaders around the Paragould area attended.
The luncheon was in appreciate of those businesses and industry leaders who support GCITC. Alan Decker, director of corporate and community education on the BRTC Paragould campus shared program information, milestones, and successes of programs offered through GCITC. Guest speakers included Sue McGowan, president of Paragould Chamber of Commerce; Angie Caldwell, vice president of technical education, and Dr. Eric Turner, BRTC president.
Three individuals were awarded the Visionary Award, a recognition of recent retirees and their work and dedication. They were Dean Inman, Ray Noel, and Ed Tolleson.
BRTC’s welding instructor Rickie Gunn, machine tool technology instructor Gary Meier, and their students created and donated 2 fire rings to the raffle.
The Greene County Industrial Training Council consists of members from business, industry, and educational providers. Since 1998, GCITC works provide targeted training programs to member businesses and their employees in order to enhance area economic development by meeting Northeast Arkansas\’ industrial and business education needs.
