Custodial Services Assistant-Day Porter

Black River Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Custodial Services Assistant - Day Porter. This is a full-time, non-classified, 12-month position on the main campus.

The Custodial Services Assistant - Day Porter reports to the Custodial Services Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the main facility during the day, to include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, common areas, and high-traffic areas.  The Day Porter will also respond to any unexpected needs on campus. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and have a strong attention to detail.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, common areas, and high-traffic areas
  • Empty trash and recycling bins
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel
  • Assist with setting up or breaking down events as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service to all campus guests, students, and employees 

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED with prior custodial work preferred.  Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, or holidays as needed. A valid driver’s license is required.
