Finding Print Books
Use the library catalog to find print books available in the library.
Steps:
- From the library homepage, select Books & eBooks tab near the top of the page & choose KOHA to open the library catalog.
- Enter keywords in the search box and select Go/Search (make sure to choose catalogue to the left of the search bar in the dropdown if it’s not already).
- Use the search options to the left to narrow your results.
- Select a book title to view the item's record.
- Use the Call Number to locate the book on the library shelves.
- Check the Collection information to determine where the item is located.
If you need assistance locating materials, please ask a library staff member for help.
Finding eBooks
The library provides access to multiple eBook collections. eBook Central contains the largest collection and is a great place to begin.
Steps:
- From the library homepage, select Books & eBooks tab.
- Choose eBook Central.
- Enter keywords in the search box and select Search.
- Use filters to left to narrow your results, or select Advanced Search near the top for more targeted searches.
- Select a title to read online, download, print, or use available features within the database.
Finding Articles
Most library databases work in similar ways. This tutorial uses ProQuest Central as an example.
Steps:
- From the library homepage, select Databases tab.
- Choose ProQuest Central.
- Enter your keywords in the search box.
- Use filters such as Full Text and Peer Reviewed to find reliable, accessible articles.
- Use Advanced Search options to narrow results by title, subject, or abstract (located near the top above search bar).
- Select an article title to read, download, print, or save the resource.
Research Tutorials
