New Student Enrollment & Registration Checklist

check circle Submit Admission Application

You cannot register for classes until all paperwork has been submitted and approved.

check circle Submit Official High School Transcript or GED Scores

Have your high school submit an official copy of your transcript OR submit a copy of your GED scores. You may bring your records/scores to BRTC in a sealed envelope.

If you have 15 or more college hours from an accredited college, you do not have to submit a high school transcript.

check circle Submit Other College Transcripts

Submit official copies of transcripts from all colleges previously attended.

check circle Submit Placement Test Scores

  • Submit ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer scores.
  • If you have not taken these tests, you may submit proof of compliance with state remediation laws if you have less than 30 earned credit hours at an accredited college.
  • If you have not taken one of the above tests, you may take the ACT or Accuplacer at BRTC.

check circle Submit Immunization Records

  • Provide proof of immunization against Measles, Rubella, and a MMR Booster.
  • Students born before January 1, 1957, are not required to provide proof of immunization.
  • These immunizations are not mandatory for students taking courses for enrichment.

check circle Complete New Student Orientation

Complete the New Student Orientation as a new student to BRTC. The first part is an online class, in which you will be enrolled at registration. You may select the date and time from various orientation dates, per program of study for the second part, which will be held on campus. Your Academic Advisor will provide information to you during your registration appointment.

check circle Contact Academic Advisor

Once you meet with an Academic Advisor, a program advisor will be assigned to you. You must meet with your program advisor each semester in order to remove the semesterly advisement holds. Not meeting with your assigned advisor will prevent you from registering for class.
