Child Care Orientation Training

The Corporate & Community Education Department of Black River Technical College is offering FREE Child Care Orientation Training (CCOT).  CCOT is a specialized training course that is recommended for caregivers who have had little or no previous training.   CCOT training combines basic information, activities, and resources that will provide a broader understanding of the following important lessons:  early care and education as a profession, best practice for the developing child, guiding children, children’s health, and children’s safety.  The class will be presented by Amy Johnson, a certified CCOT instructor.  Graduates of the course will be awarded certificates upon completion of the 10 hours of training.  This five-session course will be held on Tuesday evenings, September 27 – October 25, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.  Classes will be held in the continuing Education Building, located on the BRTC Pocahontas Campus, College Drive.  The deadline to register is Thursday, September 22.
