“Celebrating Black River Technical College’s 50th Anniversary” Exhibit in BRTC Mini Museum

BRTC’s U.S. History Since 1876 class (L to R): Dr. Fraley, Elizabeth Spinks, Trevor Warhurst, Gabe Gossett, Katie Gipson, T.J. Watson, Hailey Bland, Gunner Underwood, Noah Raney, Natalie Huffins, and Novembre Letson.

“Celebrating Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) 50th Anniversary” is the latest exhibit in the BRTC student-led mini-museums Cabinet of Curiosities on the Paragould campus.

Dr. Dianna Fraley’s U.S. History Since 1876 class participated in curating the exhibit. The exhibit includes logo changes through the years, pictures of the early years of the BRTC campus in Pocahontas (circa 1970s), and pictures of the 2011 flood that engulfed the Pocahontas campus.

Fraley encourages students, staff, and community members to “stop by and check out some BRTC history!”

The exhibit will run through December 4, 2023, and is free and open to the public during campus hours. The exhibit was made possible by a grant from The Arkansas Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
