BRTC’s Phi Theta Kappa Hosts Day of Caring

Black River Technical College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter held a “Day of Caring,” on both the Pocahontas and Paragould campus’ Thursday, Dec. 1. The day of caring is a day when PTK blesses BRTC students who are also parents with presents for their children.

College can cause financial hardship, especially for parents, and this event was PTK’s effort to help ease some of the financial burden of Christmas for these students during the Holiday season.

Between the two campuses, 67 students participated in the giveaway and 84 toys were distributed. Four prize drawings were held for those who participated. Katie Miller and Trinity Hallmark won a children’s tablet each. Dashawna Mason won a boy’s bike and Jessica Manuel won a girl’s bike for their children as well.
