BRTC’s Outstanding Faculty 2021

Courtney Clements

POCAHONTAS, AR Oct. 12— Courtney Clements was selected as BRTC’s 2021 Outstanding Faculty by her peers for her dedication to Black River Technical College and its students.

Clements taught as an adjunct instructor prior to being hired as a full-time instructor for BRTC in 1999.  During her time at BRTC, she has taught General Education classes required for an Associate of Arts. However, some of her favorite courses include electives such as Literature in Modern Popular Culture, Women\’s Literature, and Women\’s History.

Donna Statler, Dean of General Studies at BRTC, reports that “students request Mrs. Clements\’ classes because of her phenomenal teaching skills and her extraordinary sense of humor.  She is loved by all.  In addition to being an outstanding faculty member, she is the very best student advisor on the BRTC campus.  She is an asset to her college and is extremely appreciated.”

Clements earned a Master of Arts in English, Master of Arts in History, and a Specialist in Community College Teaching from Arkansas State University. She resides in Pocahontas with her husband, Dr. Derek Clements.
