BRTC’s Outstanding Alumni 2021

Shane Baldwin

POCAHONTAS, AR Oct. 20— Shane Baldwin, BRTC’s 2021 Outstanding Alumni, was born and raised in Paragould and graduated from Greene County Tech High School in 2002. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 2003 until 2007, and deployed overseas with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

After his service ended, Baldwin enrolled in and graduated from BRTC’s LETA program and went into Law Enforcement. He served as a Paragould PD officer from 2007 until 2011.

In 2011, Baldwin enrolled full time at BRTC Paragould and completed the Structural Steel and Pipe Welding Program. He continued his education at ASU Jonesboro, earning a Bachelor of Science.

Baldwin returned to BRTC to work as the Structural Steel and Pipe Welding Instructor from 2014 until 2018 when he chose to pursue opportunities in industrial construction. He is now the Mechanical Superintendent for Thompson Construction Group at Big River Steel in Osceola, AR.

Baldwin was honored at a virtual awards ceremony during the Arkansas Community Colleges (ACC) Conference on October 12. For more information about BRTC, visit https://blackrivertech.org/.
