BRTC’s LPN Program Ranked #1 in the State

BRTC Nursing Students

POCAHONTAS, AR Sept. 24— Black River Technical College’s Practical Nursing Program has been ranked #1 in the state by nursingprocess.org.

Nursingproccess.org ranked BRTC’s LPN program #1 in Arkansas for 2021 and states, “Working towards the objective of inculcating wholesome learning spirit among students, Black River Technical College, Pocahontas is one of the preferred destinations for aspiring nursing prospects. The college infrastructure is environment-friendly, and educators are well-qualified to shape your career.”

The website adds, “The institute offers flexibility of enrolling into its practical nursing program in either the Spring or the Fall semester. Classes for the Spring semester commence in January, while the Fall semester begins in the month of August. During this training, you will go through a well-rounded curriculum consisting of theoretical instructions, simulation lab experiments, and clinical sessions. In addition, you will learn about broader healthcare issues such as nutrition, well-being, psychology, and moral behavior. The mandatory course requirements include meeting your advisor each semester to assess your course progress.”

Ramonda Housh, BRTC’s Dean of Nursing & Allied Health, expressed how honored she, her faculty, and staff are to have received this ranking by stating, “BRTC is extremely proud of the hard work and effort put forth by both the students and the faculty of the newly revised 10.5 month practical nursing program. Their dedication to the program and the profession of nursing is evident in the 100% pass rate on the NCLEX-PN examination. We are pleased that they are employed in our local healthcare facilities, providing excellent care to our communities.\”

Dr. Brad Baine, BRTC’s Vice President of Academics, addressed his Nursing faculty and staff, praising them for this achievement by stating, “I commend your outstanding efforts on making the BRTC Nursing program the best in the state and region!  I could not ask for a better group of faculty/staff to serve our students.”
