BRTC’s Erin Kerley Mathews Appointed Rotary Assistant Governor

POCAHONTAS, AR. Dec. 18–BRTC’s Erin Kerley Mathews was appointed Rotary Assistant Governor of Area 13 by Michael E. Bennage, the 2020-2021 Rotary Governor of District 6150. Area 13 includes all clubs in Randolph and Lawrence Counties.

Matthews became a member of the Pocahontas Rotary in April 2014.  She served as president in 2018-2019. In July of 2019, she was appointed to the Membership Facilitator Team by Governor John C. Deacon, and in 2020, Matthews was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Award. The Paul Harris Fellow Award, the highest honor given in Rotary, is presented to a Rotarian or a member of the community that has made an outstanding contribution to the community.

As Assistant Governor, Matthews serves as liaison between clubs and between clubs and district leadership. She is tasked with offering support, ideas, and guidance to clubs in her area as well as finding resources for them through Rotary International.

Matthews is the admissions counselor on the BRTC Pocahontas campus and the college’s Rotaract Club advisor. She is a resident of Maynard, AR, and lives on the family farm established in 1892 by her Great Grandfather, Jess N. Kerley.
