BRTC’s Daniel Parker Graduates from ACC Leadership Institute

In the 2016-2017 academic year, Daniel Parker, BRTC’s director of planning and research, participated in the 10-month-long program. His graduation was celebrated at a special reception held Monday evening at the ACC conference in Little Rock.

Arkansas higher education is facing a critical shortage of prepared leaders.  To address this need, the Arkansas Community Colleges (ACC), a non-profit group which addresses the special needs of the 22 public state-funded 2-year Arkansas colleges, created the ACC Leadership Institute, run by past Director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education Dr. Linda Beene.  This program is designed to address the deficiencies in leadership and educate participants in the history, legislative process, and special needs of colleges and universities in Arkansas.

BRTC’s other past graduates include Priscilla Stillwell, Paragould academic site coordinator; Phillip Dickson, dean of technical education and business; Donna Statler, dean of general studies; Rhonda Stone, vice president of finance; and Karen Liebhaber, vice president of institutional advancement.
