BRTC Welcomes LETA Class 2024-B

On August 19, Black River Technical College (BRTC) welcomed new cadets to the Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA). Class 2024-B cadets were welcomed by BRTC president, Dr. Martin Eggensperger, and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Brad Baine.

The cadets will be going through Basic Police Training, a 600-hour program that is accredited by Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST). CLEST also approves the cadets for enrollment once they are submitted by their agency.

The training program is offered twice a year and covers multiple areas of standard police training. Once the cadets successfully complete the course they are eligible for state certification as law enforcement officers.
