BRTC TRN Students Meet with NEA Baptist Recruiter

Black River Technical College (BRTC) 3rd semester traditional registered nursing students recently visited with a recruiter from NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital to discuss career opportunities.

Tammy Meeks, hospital recruiter, met with the students during and lunch-and-learn meeting and discussed multiple different aspects of working at NEA Baptist Memorial. Meeks talked about pay rates, available nursing roles at the hospital, and support systems for new graduates. She also emphasized the hospital’s commitment to professional growth and development.

BRTC’s RN program is an associate degree program which takes between one and two years to complete. The program combines classroom instruction, simulated patient care, and clinical experience to prepare graduates for a successful career in nursing.  After graduation, students are eligible to apply for the national examination (NCLEX-RN) administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, for licensure as a registered nurse (RN).
