BRTC Trap & Skeet Club Finishes Season 9th in Country, 3rd in Conference

Black River Technical College’s Trap and Skeet Club finished its season 9th in the country in the USA Clay Target College and 3rd in conference with 464 out of 500 points.

“We are by far the smallest school in these competitions,” BRTC President Martin Eggensperger said at the club awards ceremony, “You guys really put on a good showing against some much bigger schools.”

Other colleges competed against in conference included Indiana Wesleyan University, 12,000 enrollment, and Black Hawk College, 6,400 enrollments.

Colleges competed against in the USA Clay Target College included Kent State, 40,000 enrollments; Western Michigan State, 24,000 enrollments; Ferris State University, 14,000 enrollments; Bemidji State University, 5,000 enrollments; Cayuga Community College 4,700 enrollment.

The team’s shooting accuracy percentage was 78.8 or 19.7 targets out of every 25. Aaryon Vaughn was presented with a medal for having been the varsity female 1st place conference season average holder. Vaughn won 2nd place last year. Second place for varsity female conference season average went to Brie Burrow, who won 3rd place last year. Third place overall tournament novice male was awarded to Michael Fraley.

Awards were also given out based on combined season and tournament scoring. First overall was awarded to Brayden Tarantino. Second overall was awarded to David Ladd. Third overall was awarded to Aaryon Vaughn. Most improved was awarded to Michael Fraley.
