Black River Technical College (BRTC), in partnership with Arkansas Northeastern College, will offer its first Arkansas Steelmaking Bootcamp beginning November 27 and running through December 8 on the BRTC Paragould campus.
Enrollment is limited, so those interested should register immediately.
The Arkansas Steelmaking Bootcamp is a job skills initiative designed to prepare people for the urgent labor demand of workforce education and training that provides participants with entry-level knowledge for entering a career in steelmaking.
Credentials earned will be OSHA 10-General Industry, American Heart Association First Aid CPR, and an 80-hour certification of completion.
Training topics will include team building, first aid/CPR, radio protocol, steelmaking processes, preventative maintenance, math for manufacturing, OSHA 10, quality basics for operators, mechanical measurements, proper use of tools, anti-harassment, technical math, personal financial planning, steel mill economics, forklift safety, crane safety, hydraulics/pneumatics, basic electrical applications, and fundamentals of blueprint reading.
