BRTC to Expand its CDL Programs to Paragould Campus

BRTC’s Training Truck

PARAGOULD, AR Aug. 26– To meet the tremendous need for CDL truck drivers in NEA, Black River Technical College plans to expand its Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program to the Paragould campus.

BRTC recently received a grant from Governor Asa Hutchinson’s Ready for Life initiative to fund the expansion. BRTC is in the process of purchasing a truck and hiring an instructor for the program. BRTC anticipates having the program up and running by October.

Priscilla Stillwell, BRTC’s Executive Director of Paragould Operations, expressed that BRTC Paragould is eager to offer this program to workers looking to upskill. She states, “The need is great, the pay is excellent, and the training is short!”
