POCAHONTAS, AR  May 8  — To celebrate the upcoming BRTC mascot, the black hawk, BRTC President Martin Eggensperger invited Dr. Sandy Baltz’s drawing class students to draw their version of a black hawk.  Dr. Eggensperger was very impressed by the students’ works.

Pocahontas native Ruth Patterson’s hawk will be hung in the president’s office.  Patterson’s hawk is a black ink drawing and took her between eight and ten hours to complete.  “When asked what we hoped to accomplish in our Drawing I class,” Patterson said, “I stated, ‘I need your help to flesh out my stick figures.’”

Patterson is will be graduating with an associate’s degree from BRTC in December 2020.  She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  “I love the beautiful BRTC campus, staff, and excellent instructors,” she said.
