BRTC Signs MOU with Ozarka College

On Monday, November 4, Black River Technical College (BRTC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ozarka College. Signing the MOU were Dr. Martin Eggensperger, BRTC president, and Dr. Chris Lorch, Ozarka College provost. Also representing Ozarka was Marcus Orf, director of workforce and technical training, and David Mitchell, division chair for applied science and technology.

Ozarka MOU 34

The MOU allows Ozarka College students to continue their technical training through BRTC’s Workforce Training apprenticeship program. When an Ozarka student completes their Skilled Trades Technical Certificate they will have taken introductory classes for HVAC, electrical, basic construction, and plumbing. This knowledge can then be put towards their choice of apprenticeship. Having continued technical training and apprenticeships will allow these students to get higher wages in skilled trades.
