Program accreditation is required of respiratory care collegiate programs.  Like respiratory care, nursing, allied health, law enforcement, fire science, and other regulated industries require all educational programs to undergo program accreditation with a directed state or national entity.  Not completing an accredited program prohibits students from sitting for licensure exams required for employment in the field.
