BRTC Receives $350,000 Grant from the State of Arkansas

Black River Technical College (BRTC) has received roughly $350,000 in grant money from the State of Arkansas for Career Pathways.

Career Pathways will use the money to help ease students’ worries with expenses so students may continue furthering their education. The money would cover tuition, fees, books, gas reimbursement, and/or childcare.

The Career Pathways Initiative serves 25 two-year colleges in Arkansas. Each year a sum of money is divided by the State of Arkansas, given to the Department of Higher Education, and then split among the schools. The amount of money awarded depends on each college’s contribution to the total productivity outcome formula for the state.

BRTC’s Career Pathways received the highest additional success funding for the 2024-25 academic year. BRTC is also one of the top five colleges for funding distribution for the 2025 fiscal year.

Last year BRTC Career Pathways assisted 193 students.
