BRTC President Martin Eggensperger Selected for Leadership Arkansas Class XVIII

Black River Technical College (BRTC) President Dr. Martin Eggensperger was recently selected to participate in the Leadership Arkansas Class XVIII beginning in September.

“I am honored to have been selected as a participant in the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce Leadership program. This opportunity not only reflects the dedication of our small but dynamic college to community engagement, but also highlights the vital role that educational institutions play in shaping local economies,” said Eggensperger. “I look forward to collaborating with fellow leaders and bringing their valuable insights back to our campus for the benefit of our students and our surrounding community.”

According to a press release from the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas (State Chamber/AIA), 53 individuals from throughout Arkansas have been selected to join Leadership Arkansas Class XVIII.

“The number of applicants this year was more than double the number of spots available,” Leadership Arkansas Director Toni Lindsey said. “The selection committee carefully worked to identify individuals who have demonstrated a superior level of professional and personal performance and a commitment to be outstanding leaders within their communities. This year’s class members represent a diverse set of industries from across the state, and I am confident that the program will further equip them as they strive to make Arkansas a better place to live and work.”

Leadership Arkansas is a nine-month program operated by the State Chamber/AIA consisting of nine multi-day sessions held in different locations throughout the state. The sessions feature Arkansas leaders who represent a wide geographic base, diverse backgrounds and vocations. The members are given broad exposure to the many social, political, geographic and environmental complexities of the state.

The mission of Leadership Arkansas is to challenge, inform, inspire and engage current/future business and civic leaders to enhance the economies of the state. Leadership Arkansas’s vision is to work to build a strong and vibrant state by training skilled community leaders to recognize and capitalize on opportunities, motivate others to act strengthening regions and communities, serve as ambassadors for the potential and growth of the state, and promote the election and appointment of officials who understand the diverse aspects leading to growth in Arkansas. Since its inception in 2005, Leadership Arkansas has educated and engaged nearly 1,000 alumni, who represent almost every Arkansas county.
