BRTC President and Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness Serve as HLC Conference Panelists

Sissy Gray, BRTC Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness

POCAHONTAS, AR April 20— On April 7, Dr. Martin Eggensperger, BRTC President, and Sissy Gray, BRTC Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness, served as panelists for one of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Conference sessions.

During Wednesday’s virtual “Share Fair,” the panel’s discussion focused on how universities and colleges can prepare for HLC “Additional Locations Confirmation Visits.” Universities and colleges around the nation had the opportunity to ask Eggensperger and Gray how they approached planning for the recent BRTC confirmation visits, which ultimately led to the final HLC approval of AMMC facility in Paragould and the Fire Science facility in Walnut Ridge.

Gray stated that she was grateful for the opportunity to share her knowledge and experience and added, “I believe we were able to dispel any hesitations that attendees may have had about pursuing an Additional Locations Confirmation Visit in the midst of the COVID pandemic. We shared our visit experience, which was overwhelmingly positive, and we offered advice and encouragement to those seeking new locations approval from HLC.”
