BRTC Practical Nursing Pinning and Graduation Held at First Baptist Church in Pocahontas

Due to the flooding in East Pocahontas, the graduation and pinning ceremony for BRTC\’s Practical Nursing students was held May 22 at First Baptist Church in Pocahontas. The event included the traditional candle lighting ceremony and Nightingale Pledge culminating with the vocal rendition of \”Go Light Your World\” performed by Paige Davis. Eighteen students received a technical certificate in Practical Nursing.

Guest speaker was Kelly Rogers, a hositalist at NEA Baptist in Jonesboro.  The class spokesman was Whitney Rodgers, class president, and the prayer was given by Seth Morris, PN graduate.  The class shared a slide presentation. The final benediction was presented by Lisa Wilcox.

BRTC president Dr. Eric Turner conferred degrees with Vice President for Technical Education Angie Caldwell assisting in the presenting of diplomas. Awards were announced by Practical Nursing Director Tonya Hankins. Nursing faculty members Kelsie Cagle, Tahnee Green, Tina Stroud, Nancy Felts, Jennifer Hibbard, Bridgette Kasinger, and Sandra Green presented awards and pinned students. The award frames were donated by Pinnacle Frames of Pocahontas.

A reception following the ceremony was sponsored by Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, Pocahontas Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, St. Bernard’s Medical Center, and Randolph County Nursing Home.
