BRTC Phi Theta Kappa Holds 2026 Induction Ceremony

Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter inducted 23 new members on Tuesday, April 21. Eight inductees attended the ceremony with family and friends to receive their honor of induction.

Students inducted were Aurbrey Arnett of Walnut Ridge, Ashley Banks of Corning, Cooper Carter of Salem, Lauren Chester of Pocahontas, Alaric Coleman of Ravenden, Stuart Davis of Hoxie, Keeley Dawson of Bono, Mary Ewing of Paragould, Joshua Hick of Pocahontas, Kaylee Holtsclaw of Brookland, Natalie Huffins of Marmaduke, Hannah Kelley of Jonesboro, Logan Latham of Warm Springs, Christian Lowman of Maynard, Kiana Mahaffey of Ravenden, Lane Pace of Marmaduke, Addison Roberts of Jonesboro, Kayley Tambling of Harrisburg, Alisha Tidwell of Paragould, Jared Villa of Pocahontas, Kimberly Watson of Paragould, and Alexander Wooldridge of Paragould.

Dean of General Studies Darenda Kersey was present to give a speech and recognize the hard work of all the inductees. Officers were also recognized and presented medallions. Officers include President Lauren Chester, Vice President of Community Service Alaric Coleman, and Vice President of College Projects Ashley Banks.

PTK was established in 1918. It recognizes college students’ academic achievements and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders. Membership requires at least 12 hours of coursework toward an associate or at least six hours of coursework toward a one-year certificate with a 3.5 GPA. Members have access to more that $90 million in scholarships, including $37 million in transfer scholarships from over 700 four-year universities.
