BRTC Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Donates to Together We Foster

BRTC PTK Co-VP\’s of Community Service Projects Krystina Compton and Ashley McClish drop off PTK donations to \”Together We Foster\” Board Secretary Debra Lyles-Benedict

Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter recently held a donation drive to help “Together We Foster.”

PTK collected donations of Easter basket, Easter basket fillers, and individually wrapped snacks and drinks throughout March and donated the items to both the Paragould and Pocahontas “Together We Foster” locations before Easter.

“Together We Foster is so grateful for the donations received from Phi Theta Kappa Members. With their help, we were able to fill over 300 Easter Baskets for Children in foster care located all over Northeast Arkansas,” said Together We Foster Executive Director Lindsay Roberts. “We appreciate the support of this group and the heart they have for their community!”

PTK was established in 1918. It recognizes college students’ academic achievements and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders. Membership requires at least 12 hours of coursework toward an associate or at least six hours of coursework toward a one-year certificate with a 3.5 GPA. Members have access to more than $90 million in scholarships, including $37 million in transfer scholarships from 750 four-year universities.
