BRTC Nursing Assistant Program Receives Continued Full Approval

POCAHONTAS, AR  May 13  — The nursing assistant program at Black River Technical College has received continued full approval from the Office of Long Term Care until January 2022.

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) provide care to individuals in long term care and assisted living facilities, hospitals, and home health agencies. CNAs work at the bedside, meeting the essential health and personal care needs of the most vulnerable population, the elderly.

“Training highly-skilled, professional CNAs is vital,” said Ramonda Housh, BRTC dean of nursing and allied health, “because there of the constant demand for their skilled care in the healthcare setting.”

BRTC offers nursing assistant classes several times a year on both the Pocahontas and Paragould campuses.
