BRTC Meets with ITW Paslode to Discuss Training Opportunities

Black River Technical College (BRTC) recently met with Illinois Tool Works (ITW) Paslode’s Global Human Resources Director Ellen Kapoor and AID Temporary Service’s Loretta Hayes to discuss potential training opportunities for Paslode.

Kapoor expressed interest in BRTC’s credit and non-credit programs and how they could benefit Paslode’s plant in Pocahontas. Discussion focused on the college’s welding, machine tool, robotics, and industrial electricity programs.

Kapoor and Hayes also toured BRTC’s Pocahontas campus. Leading the tour was Executive Director of Workforce Training Priscilla Stillwell, and accompanying was Workforce Education Development Coordinator Jody Callahan, Dean of Business and Technology Phillip Dickson, and Vice President of Student Affairs Jason Smith.

BRTC works closely with local and state workforce development agencies and area economic development initiatives to serve the needs of businesses and industries within Clay, Greene, Lawrence, and Randolph counties in developing workforce programs which benefit the employers and employees. Workforce Training offers training in Pocahontas, Paragould, Piggott, and online. BRTC is proud to serves as the sole provider of education for the Greene County Industrial Training Council (GCITC).
