BRTC Leaders Attend State Dean’s Meeting

Three Black River Technical College (BRTC) leaders attended and presented at the 50th annual Arkansas Dean’s Association (ADA) at Arkansas Tech University.

At this year\’s conference, several BRTC administrators attended and presented at the conference.  Dr. Brad Baine moderated the “Workforce Development and Higher Education Partnerships” panel with panelists which included Graycen Bigger, Executive Director of NEA Intermodal and BRTC Foundation board member, and BRTC’s Phillip Dickson, Dean of Business and Technology. Other presentations and sessions that occurred at the conference included such topics as higher education and the shaping of Arkansas, legal landscape of higher education, legislative issues in higher education, and private and public college partnerships.

Baine, who is currently vice president for ADA, was elected president 2023-2024 academic year.  Dr. Martin Eggensperger, BRTC president, served as ADA president in 2012-2013.  In addition, the next ADA conference in 2023-2024 will be hosted by Black River Technical College.

ADA is open to all college and university academic affairs leaders in Arkansas and exists to provide them with the opportunity to learn best practices and stay abreast of the professional challenges and success that are occurring at institutions of higher education.
