BRTC Law Enforcement Training Academy Graduation and Guest Speaker Announced

POCAHONTAS, AR. Nov. 12– The BRTC Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) will hold its graduation ceremony for the Fall 2020 class on Friday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the Randolph County Development Center on the Pocahontas campus. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, graduation is not open to the public but will be streamed live on LETA’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LETA1999/.

LETA Director Steve Shults is pleased to announce the graduation guest speaker will be Senator Jason Rapert. Senator Rapert represents Senate District 35 which includes parts of Faulkner and Perry Counties. He was elected to the Senate in 2010 and took the oath of office on the first day of the 2011 legislative session. He currently serves as chairman of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Commerce and as Senate vice chairman of the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee.

Rapert serves on the Legislative Council and also is a member of the Senate Committee on Revenue and Taxation, the Joint Budget Committee, and the Joint Committee on Public Retirement and Social Security Systems. Senator Rapert is a member of the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace Legislative Oversight Committee.
