BRTC Hosts ADHE Commissioner Dr. Ken Warden as Convocation Speaker

Black River Technical College (BRTC) hosted Arkansas Division of Higher Education (ADHE) Commissioner Dr. Ken Warden as a guest speaker during the college’s semesterly convocation for faculty and staff.

Warden spoke about his climb to being commissioner that began for him as an auto tech instructor in the Ozarks. He also spoke about the current and future political climate surrounding higher education and how important two-year institutions are in making a difference in students’ lives.

“Don’t serve all students, serve each student,” Warden said, meaning an educator/education institution should meet students where they are and help them achieve their goals.
