BRTC Holds Fall 2019 Commencement

POCAHONTAS, AR Dec. 13 – BRTC held its Fall Commencement December 12 in the Randolph County Development Center. BRTC awarded 370 degrees and certificates to 283 graduates. Some students completed more than one certificate or degree. Separate commencement ceremonies were held for nursing and law enforcement graduates.

Degrees were conferred by BRTC President Dr. Martin Eggensperger and awarded by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Brad Baine. Degrees awarded included two-year associate of arts, associate of science, and associate of applied science degrees as well as one-year technical certificates and one-semester certificates of proficiency.

Raven Lynn Randolph, candidate for the associate of arts, served as graduate candidate spokesperson. She shared that initially she was not interested in coming to Black River Technical College, but the support of faculty and staff during her term as FFA state officer led her to the college: “I had so much support from BRTC while running for state office even before I announced this was the college I would call home!”

Photographs of the commencement ceremony will be available on the college’s Flickr account on Tuesday, December 17. A link will also be available on the BRTC Facebook page.
