BRTC Holds Annual High School Counselor Appreciation Day

Black River Technical College (BRTC) recently held its annual High School Counselor Appreciation Day on its Pocahontas campus.

Counselors and career coaches from 10 Arkansas and Missouri school districts attended the event. BRTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Brad Baine welcomed the counselors and Vice President of Student Affairs Jason Smith presented information on the programs offered by BRTC. Executive Director of Workforce Development Priscilla Stillwell spoke about the new Steelmaking Bootcamp offered in conjunction with Arkansas Northeastern College and about the Proventus Heroic Leadership course.

BRTC’s Director of Financial Aid Brandi Chester spoke about financial aid and the application process. BRTC’s Admissions counselor Erin Matthews spoke to the counselors and career coaches about the scholarships available for their students’ academic careers. The event concluded with a tour of the campus.
