BRTC Holds 2023 Spring Commencement

Black River Technical College (BRTC) held its Spring 2023 commencement last Thursday in the Randolph County Development Center.

Approximately 600 degrees and certificates were conferred by BRTC President Dr. Martin Eggensperger and awarded by Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Brad Baine to 383 graduates.

Degrees awarded included two-year Associate of Arts, Associate of General Studies, Associate of Business, and Associate of Applied Science degrees as well as one-year technical certificates, and one-semester certificates of proficiency.

Keynote speaker Bridgette Kasinger gave a riveting speech through a fun and meaningful story. She told of how important it is to help those in need, because every little bit of help can change someone’s path. The story she told was of a boy who walked along a beach throwing starfish back into the ocean. An older man asked him what he was doing and he said the tide is out, the starfish will die on the shore. The old man told him there was no way he could save them all, but the boy assured the man he made a difference for each starfish he threw back.
