POCAHONTAS, AR  Dec. 6, 2019 – In November David See and Brett Glass, employees of Nielsen Bainbridge were the first graduate of BRTC’s new Commercial Driver License (CDL) program.  See and Glass participated in a customized training class for Nielsen Bainbridge.

CDL training will enable those who are unemployed or underemployed to learn a new profession which will pay higher than the average salary.  Additional CDL classes will be available to the public at the beginning of 2020.

BRTC is the recipient of a Delta Regional Authority Workforce Grant in the amount of $100,000.  Grant monies will be used to purchase a truck for the CDL program.  BRTC thanks the many individuals and businesses who committed to being industry partners, pledged donations, and wrote letters of support so BRTC would have the chance to be awarded this grant.
