Black River Technical College (BRTC) Director of Career, Technical, and Concurrent Education Darenda Kersey recently attended the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Summit.

The ADE Summit combines many smaller conferences from the past into one amazing opportunity, expanding the reach of the previous events. The summit gives participants the opportunity to attend sessions they may have never considered before, according to dese.ade.arkansas.gov.

Kersey attended panels on career-ready pathways and career and technical education updates, ACT Work Keys, concurrent myths, accelerating college and career readiness for students, artificial intelligence, and Arkansas scholarships.

“This was my 3rd year to attend the ADE Summit. This conference is a great way for me to stay up-to-date with the changes that are taking place in our partner high schools plus it is a great networking opportunity. I always come back with valuable information and excitement about the start of a new school year,” said Kersey.
