BRTC CTC Visits PHS, Uses TransfrVR to Allow Students to Explore Jobs Virtually

Black River Technical College (BRTC) Career and Technical Center (CTC) visited the Pocahontas High School (PHS) Junior and Senior high classes recently where the students were allowed to use TransfrVR (virtual reality) equipment and software.

Ten TransfrVR headsets have been loaned to the BRTC CTC program by the Office of Skills and Development. The BRTC CTC program in cooperation with PHS Career Coach Allison Swann allowed PHS students to explore various technical careers virtually. The careers included Auto Service, Auto Body, Welding, Robotics, Machine Tool Technology, and Electrical work.

PHS partners with BRTC to offer many BRTC courses for concurrent credit in both Gen Ed and Technical programs.
