BRTC @ The Armory CTC welding students at Greenbrier (L to R): Katelynn Louvier, Avery Putt, Aaron Mauldin, Jesus Garcia, Osvaldo Garcia, Mason Dixon, Vincent Sheridan, Alex Reed, Kayden Reel, and Lance Potts

Black River Technical College (BRTC) Career and Technical Center (CTC) welding students from BRTC @ The Armory in Piggott enrolled recently toured The Greenbrier Companies’ Paragould location.

BRTC welding instructor and Greenbrier employee Steven Kiker, set up the tour to give his students a close-up experience of what working at the welding company would be like.

The students started the tour with a safety meeting. They learned how to properly conduct themselves while in the plant and wore the required PPE of safety goggles, a hard hat, and earplugs.

Greenbrier Superintendent Bobby Wilson walked the students through the facility and explained what each area accomplishes and their purpose.

The students were also led through tracks One and Two of the plant where they were able to see how covered hopper cars are assembled, welded, and completed.
