BRTC CTC Hosts Pipe Welding Speaker

Black River Technical College (BRTC) Career and Technical Center (CTC) hosted BRTC’s Corporate & Community Education Department’s Pipe Welding Instructor Ty Haney recently.

Haney talked with the students about his various experiences as a pipe welder and the major impact the career of pipe welding made in his life. Having the skills needed to do this important job helped him move from making $10 an hour to $50 an hour plus per diem. Haney says he has been privileged to travel and work all over the United State in the past six to seven years he has been a pipe welder.

BRTC will offer its next Pipe Welding class in June. The cost of the course is $8,500, which includes all expenses including a tool set that the student takes with them to get them started on the next chapter of their careers. The course will run from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday  Monday-Friday at the BRTC Paragould location.
