Black River Technical College (BRTC) celebrated Pi Day across both of its locations, Paragould and Pocahontas, on March 14.

Faculty members on both campuses passed out bottles of water, free individual pies, Pi/math pencils, Pi day stickers, and pizza to 177 students

Students also entered a Pi Day poster contest. Posters were evaluated on creativity and had to include facts about the number pi.

The first-place winner of the poster contest on the Pocahontas campus was Julie Bryant of Paragould and the second-place winner was Natalie Huffins of Marmaduke. The first-place winner of the poster contest on the Paragould campus was Rachel Ness. The first-place winners received a $30 Walmart gift card and the second-place winner received a $20 Walmart gift card.

Participants from both locations who completed the Pi Day survey were also entered into a drawing for a Walmart gift card. Jane Lane of Rector was the winner of the survey drawing.
